Monday, May 23, 2005 Strange Rumblings...Some people have noticed the blogroll-reshuffle. It doesn't mean a thing. If you've been moved from "Berlin" to "Friends," it's because you're blogging more about Irvine than Berlin (Desyl). If you've moved from "Friends" to "Los Angeles" it's because you have cool photos of L.A. on your blog, not because we've quit being friends (Greg and Molli). From now on "Friends" will include any friend of mine not blogging relentlessly about Berlin or L.A. -- not likely, in other words, to give my readers a sense of either town.Speaking of L.A., here's the video blog of a woman who set out to walk most of L.A.'s neighborhoods, without a set schedule, without hotel reservations, with only a vague idea of where to go. She's had one false start, but the project may still be interesting. For all you urbanists! posted by Michael Scott Moore | 12:56 PM

AARrrg. Damn that I-word! I reject it on a matter of principle! If it were an ugly baby I would drop kick it's butt back to the planning hell that spawned it. That said, I would argue that I should be upgraded to LA, 1-because it is regularly within the scope of my daily urban field, and 2-the OC is a significant part of the greater LA conurbation.
PS, two words: algorithmic walking.
You had me going with 1), but lost me with 2). There's no convincing an LA native that Orange County is somehow the same town.

If you post more stuff about the LA County library -- or [hint, hint] if you move to LA -- I'll consider it. |
