Dubbed, UnfortunatelyGerman film distributors like to dub most movies, whether they come from Hollywood or Hong Kong or Paris. Luckily Berlin has a few theaters that show Originalverfassungen, with original voices and subtitles. I like to watch those even if the voices are in Chinese; I prefer reading a movie to watching it in closed, pickled German. But film critics of course don't use Originalverfassungen on the radio, which leads to its own absurdity. This weekend I heard a radio critic go on and on about how Leonardo DiCaprio does such brilliant work in The Aviator, die Spitzenrolle seiner Karriere, blah-blah-blah, only to play a clip from the movie dubbed in German. Good God.
