Why is this such a grim year?Iris Chang, who pissed off the Japanese with a history book called The Rape of Nanking, died in high noir style here last weekend:
Police found her body in a car on a road south of San Francisco and said she died from a single bullet to the head. Suicide, apparently. She was clinically depressed.
