Hiatus, for real

My hard drive crashed last week, so this "hiatus" has turned into straight radio silence. Sorry. The bad news is that Richard Mitchell, who wrote the underappreciated essays on education and Socrates that prompted this site in the first place, has died.

Sorry for the long blogging absence: I've been out of town, and busy editing my book. But watch this space for an upcoming John Poindexter Personal Data Mining Page. When I posted his home phone number here last month, I didn't realize I was part of a small Internet phenomenon.
