Why we went to war 2Michael Ignatieff's September 7 article in the New York Times Magazine also has this passage: "As Paul Wolfowitz has all but admitted, the 'bureaucratic' reason for war -- weapons of mass destruction -- was not the main one. The real reason was to rebuild the pillars of American influence in the Middle East." The PNAC plan, in other words. Ignatieff and Zinni seem to agree on this point, but some people still have trouble with it.
