Denis Johnson... is a major writer in a few different forms -- poetry, novels, the stories of Jesus' Son. Now he writes plays, and premieres them right here in San Francisco. It's rare for our city to get such a jump on good underground material like this -- ahead of Chicago and New York -- so I wrote a feature about Johnson in last week's SF Weekly.
